The FAMU Essential Theatre
The Essential Theatre maintains its dedication to develop a competitive and quality theatre program that provides the student pre-professional training achieved through classroom activities and practical production experiences. Our primary aim is to provide undergraduate students with the well-rounded formal preparation necessary for advanced academic or professional study, and to expose the student body, the Tallahassee community and surrounding areas to experiences in the arts.

In Person: Visit, Tucker Hall, Room 111, on FAMU’s campus.
Single Ticket Purchases: Most tickets go on sale to the general public the day of the first performance.
Group Sales: Discounted tickets for groups of 15 or more are available throughout the season. For more information on group discounts, contact the ticket office, which is located on the first floor of Tucker Hall, or call (850) 561-2425.
Box Office Location & Hours
The Essential Theatre box office is located in the lobby of Tucker Hall.
Week Days: Noon to 5:30 p.m. on the day of an event and again one hour prior to curtain.
Saturday and Sunday: One hour prior to curtain.
The box office may open a few days before an event if popularity dictates special provisions.
Parking
Limited parking is available behind Tucker Hall. Patrons may use the Old FAMU DRS Parking lot located off of Gamble Street or the parking garage located on Wahnish Way.
Accessibility
The Charles Winter Wood Theatre and Ronald O. Davis Acting Studio are handicap accessible. Charles Winter Wood Theatre is equipped with assistive listening devices.
